2018: The gallery was born from the meeting between Esther and Paul
ESTHER & PAUL
Esther
Initially a lawyer in European law abroad, Esther joined a startup and the digital world upon her return to France because she felt that she would find the tools there to match her desires for entrepreneurship and freedom.
A photographer and painter in her free time, surrounded by artists in her close circle and passionate about art, it is clearly in this sector that she wanted to mobilize her skills and undertake.
A novice in the gallery world, Esther preferred to use this inexperience as a driving force rather than a complex, to bring a perspective and ways of promoting art in a new and different way.
It is Esther who you will find at the controls at the boutique and who is in charge of sales and communication for the gallery.
Paul
On paper, there is nothing to suggest the importance of art in Paul's life: Paul was successively a professor, an officer, a senior executive, a senior civil servant. It is on the side of his personal life that we must look to measure the place that art occupies in his life: son of an art historian father, grandson of artist and collector grandfathers whose collections he inherited in part, Paul began to buy paintings and drawings at the age of 15. This secret passion led him to acquire hundreds of works of all styles and periods.
In 2014, he sold about sixty works from his collection and noted that sharing his choices and his perspective fueled a rich and fertile reflection for the development of his collection. He also observed that art intimidates and that everyone harbors many fantasies about the price of works and their rarity. It was in the crucible of this experience that the idea of “Esther and Paul” germinated.
When Paul met Esther in 2018 and she told him about her ambition to become an entrepreneur in art, he offered to make part of his collection available and help her create her gallery.
